CURRICULUM VITAE

Sophie Hélène Margarete Graber was born 1979 in Starnberg, and grew up around Munich and in Paris. She speaks fluently French, German, Spanish, English and some Catalan. She studied social and cultural anthropology, philosophy and political science at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and at the Universidad de Barcelona in Spain. She obtained her masters degree in social and cultural Anthropology 2009 in Munich. From 2003 to 2004 she lived in Cuba, where she studied photography and sculpture at the Instituto Superior del Arte in Havana. Years later, she carried out anthropological field studies on young Cuban artists on their way to a transnational life between Cuba and Europe, particularly Spain.Sophie was also trained as an actress by the EL CLUB DE ACTORES and worked as a model for many years in Barcelona.In 2014, she obtained her Master in creative documentary at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Her final project was the interactive web documentary “V.O.S.E” in collaboration with Rosario González, Laura Rodríguez, Cristóbal Será and Marina Herrera (www.vosedoc. com) being nominated at the International Documentary Film Festival of Amsterdam. Between 2014 and 2016, she was co-founder and co-director of KUNIRI, an NGO based in Munich that works with refugees through design and fashion, establishing an own brand and several three months school workshops for refugees in cooperation with BURDA and the Crafts Council in Munich. In 2016, she worked for a few months for the Münchner Flüchtlingsrat, an institution dedicated to guiding and helping refugees in Munich through judicial and social skills. In 2017 and 2018, she has also been project manager and curator of the art exhibition “The Long Night of Munich Museums” for the Münchner Flüchtlingsrat, one of the important annual artistic events in the city of Munich. In 2016, she started working as a manager of intercultural artistic projects and organized the pilot nonprofit MMI festival (Music & More Impro Festival) in Munich, which was extended to an official festival in 2018. The MMI Barcelona in October 2019 was all a success, now the team prepares for MMI Project 2021 …
